Kelpies
We had a route deviation on our journey north so that we could see the Kelpies, the steel construction on the bank of the Forth-Clyde Canal, celebrating the work of horses on the canal. It is 30 metres high and is in a country park. Unfortunately after that we had a delay of 40 minutes due to road works, and as we headed past Stirling the sun has gone. However we enjoyed good views across to Stirling Castle, situated on its rocky outcrop, just like Edinburgh, and the Wallace Monument. This route will take us to Perth, where we'd have reached in no time had we forgone the Kelpies and headed straight north over the Forth Bridge. But we all agree it was a worthwhile stop - all in the name of Blip!
