I went to be blood donor centre today to give blood. I went in with low expectations as I hadn't managed to successfully donate the last 3 times I'd tried. (1st my crutches were a problem, 2nd they couldn't get a good vein, 3rd my blood was too slow and they had to stop).
I made sure I'd eaten lots and more importantly drunk lots of fluids in the morning, and off I went. It went perfectly, I can't even explain how delighted I was to have finally managed to donate! It really is easy, pain free and not at all scary, no idea why more people don't do it.

Afterwards, spent an hour sitting in the meadows with Alistair then onto the Golf Tavern for lunch. Then home for a nap!
