Edinburgh Trams
What a sunny day.
The trams were busy. They are really quiet and smooth compared to buses.
Going toward the airport, they leave the road network and run alongside the rail network, gets louder and less smooth. I can't imagine the backend views of places will remain as open as they are right now.
The stairs down from Murrayfield is a bit confusing. And then the gate at the bottom was padlocked closed. So i was one of about 15 people that climbed over a gate. While a couple walking down a really wide set of steps watched us.
Its a bit of a wee trek to Tynecastle, but maybe faster than waiting for the buses.
And the layout inside the trams is different from buses. So folk figuring out the new rules about personal space.
But faster than the bus though.
Overall, fab. But needs a lot more signs and info. Especially where folk could get ran over.
And I dont like the fake "bell" sound. It's not a bell, it's a sound effect of a bell. Seems not so good.
Lots of people trying out the trams for the opening day. Glad I was there.
