I really do not like slugs.

Each year we grow pumpkin plants for the grandchildren, to date very successfully. I was annoyed to fine a big fat slug had half eaten through the stem of one of this years but showed mercy and took the offender into the next field and released it. Apparently you have to take slugs a good distance from "home" or they come back.
