A Bird(land) in the Hand...
...is Worth Two in the Bush, apparently. There is a lot of truth in this proverb. I'd been to this location in September '12 and it was familiar to me, I knew what was in store – or did I? Located in Bourton-on-the-Water I could easily have done the tourist thing; visited the shops, gazed into the river Windrush. I was in familiar territory but it did not disappoint by any means. Birdland is a collection of birds from around the globe. one uniqueness about this place is to stop and stare and see how the local wildlife interacts with the bird collection. For example, it was great to see local herons awaiting feeding. They are all well cared for and most liked to interact with visitors, the penguins are a prime example. Indeed Sir David Attenborough visited this time almost a year ago.
