Omens in the gloamin'

A lovely, sunny day. Went for a warm 10k along the canal and, later, sat out eating cake and doing the crossword. Lovely.

And yet... And yet it was hard to relax knowing that war with the Alien Robots will be settled soon by an epic contest between the Champions of our two planets. I can't help worrying that, by putting Mankind's faith in a washed-up actor from the 90s just because he played a hero with great powers, we might be making a huge, huge mistake. Mind you, similar strategies worked out in The Three Amigos and Galaxy Quest, so, maybe, just maybe, humanity can be saved.

But even the birds were acting strangely. As if they could sense the tension...
