Seven Sons, Seven Soldiers
It was a struggle to get up today – but as a red hot limpet (BB) had sneaked into our bed, I had to get up as I was liable to spontaneously combust! A day of pottering and chores. Have planted some seeds at long last (late I know – but hopefully with some fine weather they will grow).
BB and his Beavers Colony (along with other local groups) were taking part in our local festival parade today. Led by the local pipe band they marched through the streets to the local parish church. I rushed through town to take a couple of pictures, then went down to the river to spot the swans and check on the cygnets. By chance I encountered seven soldiers, led by a lone piper marching over the bridge to the same church. They were marching in memory of seven boys from the same family who went to fight in World War 1. The soldiers represented the regiments that the seven brothers served in. Read their story here.
