The Big Lunch

A fantastic afternoon with neighbours sharing food and celebrating community and The Big Lunch.
The Big Lunch is a national event that is in its 6th year. Sponsored by various companies and The Eden project it was the first time I had tried to organise one for our close. My daughter and I had put invites through everyones letterbox 4 weeks ago and awaited a response. Not everyone could join in , but those of us who did had a really nice afternoon getting to know each other better.
Using a borrowed gazebo from friends we worked as a team to put it up and decorated the area with bunting which came out of a Big Lunch Kit from Halifax. We all brought chairs and plates and cutlery as well as food to share.
We saw inside a neighbours bird shed at his lovely canaries.
There's talk of a barbeque next time.
A great community social event.
