Lazy days
The wee man was in fine form today. In fact, it's already hard to imagine what life was like before he could walk. In just two days our wee lad has gone from the occasional 1-2 steps to full-blown +50! He just wants to walk everywhere now!
In a similar vein to yesterday, we spent the majority of the day catching up on chores and settling into our new neighbourhood. It started out with a leisurely breakfast by the pool, followed by a brief play at Aviara Community Park. After that we popped back to the rental car place in San Diego and had Nikki added as a named driver. She's a little apprehensive about driving such big cars (on the wrong side of the road) but unless you have access to a car, California can be a very lonely place.
We stopped off at Trader Joe's on the way home to stock up on fresh food (lots of lovely avocados, grapes, peaches, strawberries, kiwis, pears, blueberries and Scotch Whisky). It's incredible how much great, natural food is available here but I'm always amazed how many people prefer the heavily processed alternatives. Unfortunately it's often cheaper - which I'm sure is one of the main reasons. Still, while we have access to all this lovely fresh produce, we'll most definitely make the most of it!
We finished off the day with a quick family swim. If it wasn't for the fact that I have to start work tomorrow, I could well get used to this...
