Ormonde Castle

This flagpole is on the site of Ormonde Castle. The flagpole and cairn were erected in 1997 to commemorate the 700th anniversary of the raising of the Scottish Standard by Andrew de Moray.

The wreath is in memory of the recent death of Duncan Fenton, the late Convenor of the Society of William Wallace who, along with Andrew Moray, fought in the Scottish War of Independence.

Bud knows none of this, he just loves using the cairn as a good vantage point! He and Poppy, along with their partner in crime, the irrepressible Freddie, showed no respect this morning as they careered round and round the flagpole.
