Littoral

Unidentified Grassy Thing

This little tutu-ed plant grows next the path by the river. I couldn't identify it online, but it's not uncommon.

6.6.14 Have had a better look at the leaves and have finally identified it.

It's
Plantago lanceolata L., which has many English names:
Conqueror Flowers
Cock's Heads
Knockheads
Fire-grass
Rat-tail
Lancell
Violin-strings

Many thanks to the BSBI website.
