The Rose Garden

Close by and to the east of the Memorial Hall at College is a Memorial Rose Garden.

This is entered via a small brick Loggia over the entrance of which is an inscription in Greek which can be translated as:
Within this quiet garden-close,
Though o'er all lands our graves lie spread
Still do we live and walk with those
Whose thoughts are with the dead

I walked through the garden on the way home today.
