Mountain Laurel

No, this isn't icing on a cake, though it certainly looks like it to me! I was surprised to see this bush in bloom now, as I think I usually notice it at the end of June, but I'm always amazed at the intricate little buds and flowers of Mountain Laurel.
I'm grateful today for my husband. We are celebrating our 41st anniversary today and I couldn't have picked a more perfect match for me!!
