Steam engine Hv1 575, 575th blip

The Finnish Hv1 class was a 4-6-0 express passenger train locomotive. Hv1 steam locomotive no. 575 is located in Hatanpää, Tampere. This Hv1 575 was the first engine manufactured by the steel factory Lokomo and it was entered service in 1920. The nickname of H1 locomotive series was Heikki. Lokomo and Tampella factories manufactured in total 40 Hv1 steam engines.

The initial maximum speed of H1v locomotives was 80 km/h but this was increased to 95 km/h in 1934. They were in use on passenger trains in Finland for 50 years. The last of these locomotives was withdrawn in 1967. There is one Hv1 locomotive that is still functioning; it's no. 555 (Princess) in Hyvinkää railway museum.

(4-6-0 represents the configuration of four leading wheels on two axles in a leading bogie, six powered and coupled driving wheels on three axles, and no trailing wheels.)
