The Post Mistress

Dawn runs the post office at Achiltibuie. Its a beautiful and remote village and the office is open in the mornings.

Dawn couldn't understand why I wanted to take her picture. But I thought the pigeon holes and the counter needed recording for my holiday blog.

By the way, the remote parts of Scotland are served by single track roads. (Scottish Blippers will be familiar with them). You find yourself cruising towards a head on collision with an approaching vehicle. But one of you will pull in to a passing place to let the other through. There is a courteous hand wave from both drivers and everyone proceeds happily on their way. It seems to work. But it takes a bit of getting used to.
