Collared!

While I was having lunch I heard the unmistakeable, sweet sound of a Merlin engine. I grabbed the camera that was set for shooting birds in flight, I'd been trying to shoot a kestrel. I managed to capture a Spitfire in the distance but I froze the prop. :(

I've therefore decided to post this collared dove catching the golden evening light as it comes into land on the boiler-house chimney. I had staked out the chimney hoping to capture Kes. He landed on it briefly but I messed up. :(

Interesting facts about collared doves are that they didn't breed in the UK until the mid nineteen fifties and they have red eyes.
