snap, crackle, POP!

A nice June surprise. The buds that Brad and I had spotted developing over a week ago popped in all of their glory today. I didn't get an exact count, but there appeared to be about eight flowers this morning on this Grizzly prickly pear cactus.

I'm surprised they didn't come out wearing little sunglasses and wide-brimmed hats carrying coolers full of water. They picked the hottest day of the year to break through. I'm betting they wilt rather quickly.
