My 40th year

Turned out surprisingly fabulously!

This is one of a litter of cute pug puppies that were poorly last week and are now happy, healthy and so chubby!

I was disbelieving of the alarm this morning but realised that would not be an acceptable excuse for missing work today. Heidi woke up earlier than me but India not until almost midday! Daddy daycare today which means a good result is everyone has survived intact and the dogs didn't escape.

I'm usually a fruit tea drinker so I exploited the caffeine hit I get from a real cup of tea 3 times today. Add to that 3 separate sugar rushes from an apple pie, chocolate mini roll and 2 gorgeous chocolates from a new box that Lisa opened for us and I was suitably awake all day.

Just as I was hitting a slump at 5.30ish I got a text with some truly fabulous news from my friend who has been ill recently. We had not dared to hope for this news and I feel so so happy for her. Absolutely HURRAH!!

I arrived home at 7ish, Mark and the girls were out dog walking in the rain (daddy daycare). The kitchen was spotless!!! Mark is amazing!! It had been truly dreadful after making so much food at various times yesterday. I had been dreading it all day today, I had used a lot of roasting tins yesterday. I was so cheered and ever more so when all children, dogs and number one husband arrived back cheery.
