Holme Moss Radio Tower

Up in Yorkshire helping a friend shoot a music video! A great day trip that I really enjoyed. A minor diversion this, on the summit of the A6024 on the Derbyshire / West Yorkshire border. Stunning views greet you at the top towards Leeds, Bradford and beyond.

Its hard to come here on this super high spot and not reflect on all the places this radio tower connects, it can usually be received from Northampton to Newcastle. Even down in the depths of terrace street Leicester you can get it on a portable radio. Ive even picked it up in Gloucester and as far north as Aberdeenshire. It has the largest coverage area of any FM tranmitter in the country and in my mind connects all these disparate places, weaving a thread through them, in a way that only radio could.
