Wondering

Had two nice but cold walks with the dog today. Spent a lot of them wondering about things. For example:
1. why did our boiler choose this morning to break down?
2. where are all the spiders during this cold snap? Not a web to be seen on our walk.
3. what do greenkeepers do when the golf course is covered in snow for so long?
4. why does the dog eat the snow?
5. how long will it take for the ice to melt once the thaw starts?
6. why did the boiler helpline people answer when you pressed 1 for purchasing a boiler but if you pressed 2 (the helpline for repairs) all their staff were busy and unable to take your call?

OK, so I think I probably know the answer to the last one!!!!
