(It's a gearbox.)

First I didn't have enough torque in the stepper motor to engage gears. I then promptly ordered a reduction gear for the stepper motor, ratio 1:10. Then I apparently had too much torque, because the stepper motor promptly made my gear-engaging cam shaft snap.
