Watch!

The inside of a modern electronic watch just doesn't have the beauty and charm of a traditional "Swiss" movement. However, if you want a reliable and accurate timekeeper at a low price, then there is nothing to beat it.

At least, until the battery goes flat. I thought lunchtime was never coming today - then I realised that it had been six minutes past eleven for rather a long time! A replacement battery has now been ordered through Amazon (quicker and cheaper than any convenient alternative source) and I will be working again in a couple of days. In the meantime, I may have to revert to my (even cheaper) plastic digital watch - if the battery hasn't died in that one, of course.
