Framlingham Castle

Another castle built by the Bigods, bigod!

It has a checkered history, including having been taken over by Bad King John, sold to repay debts, becoming a poorhouse, an isolation ward and finally part of the Suffolk defences against a potential German invasion. The last seems particularly unlikely, when you notice how shaky the walls are.

Still, from the outside it remains imposing, set amidst lush grass and green trees.
