A lovely day today, major highlight of which was a visit with my lovely wee nephew, who is gradually losing wires and tubes, though not as fast as he would like - he pulls them out and off with great regularity, causing all sorts of fun for the medical staff! They have given up on the bubble wrap blanket, he just won't keep it on. This photo is unusual in that he's not actually going for a tube or wire here. Most of the time I was there it was his temperature probe he was after, which you can just see under his arm. This morning, apparently, he'd had his feeding tube out (the blue one). He continues to do well, with only a bit of oxygen needed to supplement his own breathing, his digestive system coping with small quantities of milk, which is great. He finds this particular arrangement with his mum very calming and restful, in as far as he understands the concept of rest, most of the time he's preparing for his try out for the local football team (insert jokes about the skill level of Northend Thistle here), perhaps with some boxing thrown in for the off season! Wonderful to see him.

And then a fascinating evening visiting a Shia mosque in the West End, the Imam explaining a lot about what goes on there, and about the differences between Shia and Sunni Islam, and wonderful hospitality.
