Electric Lightning

This is the penultimate day for racing in the Isle of Man TT Races.

This is a competitor in the one lap race for electric bicycles passing the Glen Duff Depot.

At the time John McGuinness was leading the race at an average speed of something like 117 mph.

There is no sound from the engine and the machines do literally "whistle past"

There have been tremendous advances in the last couple of years in the technology of these machines.

It very nearly makes sense to get an electric push-bike but I will not be travelling at that sort of speed.
