Dalle de verre..

This is part of a stained glass window in our parish church.  It is not the usual type of stained glass but 'Dalle de verre' or slab glass.  Thick pieces of glass embedded and sticking out of concrete /resin. The glass has sharp chiselled surfaces which add reflections and light, but today is a really dull rainy day! It was made at Buckfast Abbey.

This is the inscription below the window:

"BAPTISM
Spiritus, sanguis, aqua-The spirit over Our Lord in the Jordan.
The Passion-and the Cross -the source of Grace - The Waters of
Baptism.  The deep blue glass in the upper part signifies Infinity
and eternity toning off into turquoise and aquamarine
signifying the Waters of Baptism.
PRAY FOR THE DONOR."
