West Lavington Crossroads

West Lavington is a village on the southern edge of Midhurst in West Sussex, rather sprawling now. It has a pub on the edge of it, which couldn't really be called a village pub, and a church which was closed in 2008 because of lack of attendance. The parish is now joined with neighbouring Cocking village where we spent 6 months in rented accommodation till we found our present house. There is a nursery school still, and crocodiles of children can often be seen walking the roads in their bright yellow macs. The population is around 300 but less than half of them are 'economically inactive' .....

At the crossroads are several historical houses like these seen here, while the rest of the sprawling village grew in the 1930's with a few later additions in the 1960/70's. Houses rarely come up for sale here, people tend to stay for donkeys years, and are much sought after when they do.
