Evening Rose
One of the problems of living in a remote rural area is that it takes some effort to get things repaired when one can't DIY. So today I have been to find Maurice, who is the man to see if you have a lawnmower or chainsaw to repair. He had my chainsaw for two months before it was fixed so I was pleasantly surprised to get my mower done on the spot today. It needed a little spring (he pronounces it in West Cork style as 'shpring'), and then it was grand altogether boy once a dropeen of oil had also been applied.
And then Jim, who does pumps and wells, came to fix our water filters and waste-water pump which has a mystery exploding float-switch problem which caused some serious head-scratching before it was taken away again for further examination.
So after a generally oily and smelly, but bright and breezy day, this delicate rose is just the job to lift the spirits. And TJ is coming tonight so that should finish the day on a high note.
