The Beautiful Danger

It's been a tough few weeks for road racing, with three more names added to the long list.
A list that contains the names of some of the legends of the sport:Britton, Finnegan, Jeffries, the Dunlop brothers, and many more.

These books by road race photographer Stephen Davidson combine two of my favourite things, and appeal to both the photographer and the biker in me.
But they are also filled with heartbreaking tales of racers who have paid the ultimate price for their sport.

Yes, they know the risks. Yes, they're doing what they love.
As a longtime race fan, I have to accept the two very different sides to the sport.
But none of that makes it any easier when it happens.
