Pelagic Cormorant

It was a long day in the car, but always a relief once we are on the ferry heading to San Juan Island. Today we stopped in Anacortes and had lunch with a good friend, did a little sightseeing of a 3 million dollar yacht which was launched a few weeks ago and immediately turned on it's side...oops! It looked rather unseaworthy, very narrow and extremely tall...obviously the builder of this yacht made a serious error.

Once on the ferry I always head for the deck to see the cormorants. I love their colors, those eyes, and they are quite active. Coming and going, flying in and out, so I gave my camera a workout and was happy.
