Dr Stuart

Dr Stuart was a minister at Dunedin's Knox Church for nearly 30 years. The statue was unveiled in 1898,after his death in 1894. He keeps good company in Queen's Gardens with a statue of Queen Victoria just behind him. Somewhere I read that when Dr Stuart's statue was moved to its current position(in 1922,to make room for a tramline) it had to be put on a slight angle so he didn't have his back to Queen Victoria.
