One step closer.......

The last few weeks have seen a number of steps being taken for hubby and daughter to return to Australia, after 5 long months in London.
Each step brings them closer to this goal.
Daughter completed her IB exams, Graduation ceremony and Graduation ball, removalists packed the house, the car was sold, the outgoing inventory for the rental property, redirecting mail and finally, last night, the first flight.....

They are on their way....at last......

Each step brings them closer.

As I was thinking about this, watching the water rushing over this lovely set of stepping stones this afternoon the realisation dawned on me that each step closer is also a step towards our daughter leaving again at the end of summer. Not just for a few months this time, but for university and an exciting new life.

I will cherish every moment of this extended break before she leaves again and I will just have to continue to repeat the mantra I have used with her before.....


"healthy birds leave the nest!" ......


but Mummy bird's heart will still break a little.......
