Stromness

Spent the evening with our lovely friends C&H who are up from Fife for a few days, staying in the Stromness Hotel. Had a lovely leisurely walk out to the golf course and back along the narrow winding street, looking at all the wonderful old and interesting buildings en route.

We also saw a yacht being towed in, at great speed, by the Stromness lifeboat. Found out later she'd got her propeller entangled with a creel rope.

Delicious meal at the Hamnavoe Restaurant - a real treat! Absolutely lovely - would definitely recommend it - very tasty, reasonable prices and beautifully presented. The waiting staff were worth a mention too - they couldn't have been more pleasant, professional or helpful.
