YELLOW TAILED BLACK COCKATOO....
.... must say today ended up quite a bust day, even though it was a miserable wet grey day this brought what I thought was a "easy" early Blip when I noticed the rain droplets on this cob web in our front garden!
Got on with the business in hand for the day, and "the boss" yelled out "look what's flying in" to the gum trees in the park up from the rear of our cul-de sac!!!
Wow, never seen these Yellow Tails around here before, so in my excitement raced off for the camera and clicked away, thinking they would be off quickly. Well they settled into the trees and were not at all welcome from the currawongs as they swooped on them.
The shots are not that good as it was a good 100 metres away and as you can see a grey sky, BUT, I was able to record a few shots for my journal of another of our Aussie wild birds in suburbia! Check out the info on the Burkes backyard link, and check their call over to the lower right of the link.
Enjoy, and have a look in LARGE.
