Finnermarken and Nordnorge
This blip is a bit of a tribute to these fantastic boats that go up and down the Norwegian Coast.
The enormous one is The Finnermarken....one of the oldest ( 1912) and largest it is now permanently docked and is being fully restored internally and will become a public museum in Stokmarknes.
The much smaller one in the background on the right is The Nordnorge...the ferry boat I have been using over the last 10 days. It is passenger ferry, car ferry, cargo ferry and cruise ship all in one ....and very efficiently run but homely.
I thought the museum building and our ferry and the mountains alongside The Finnermarken gave you a good sense of the scale and majesty of these bigger liners.
