Mellow Yellow
Again bee journal leads again today but here a view of some of the filled jars. Should have been left to stand around for a week first but I didn't have the time. Luckily you can't see the air bubbles or the micron size remains of pollen and propolis.
Between bees, horses, dogs, cats, chickens and fish, I am trying to get a university online course done, this time from University of Florida. While the participants are from all over the world, which the chief lecturer particularly spoke about. However as one would expect, it does have a North American slant to it and one of the lectures I looked at today (catching up from last week) was wonderful and relates directly to my Blip of 13th May where I, perhaps unfairly to some, tried to give our American friends a hint what Belgium was. Well today's lecture outlining various horse breeds came to the heavy brigade, the Shire Horse of course first, "from England" for which no further explanation was required. Then came "The Belgian", actually a popular breed in the US - the lecturers comment word for word...
"Called the Belgian and it's from (intoned) Bel-Gium....so you know... spelt differently, so make sure you remember that"
The point that The Belgian was from Belgium was further underscored on the slide.
Lovely, made my day and closely followed by a list of Warmbloods starting with the descriptions of Hanoverian, Trakehner and then a list of "others" showing the European influence - Holsteiner, Oldenburg, Rhinelander, Bavarian Warmblood. Not sure Mr Cameron would be amused by the "European" influence!
Can someone please explain British politics at the moment or rather the lack of it - OK Blip is not the place for this but I think I am slowly getting warm with the idea of an independent Scotland, Wales, North East England,Rutland and Eccles Village Parish.
The top jars appear yellow but they have more stomach than a UK conservative leader. They were simply stealing the limelight. Bring back Enoch, Tony or Margret or from the other side Harold, Michael even Neil.
