156/365 5th June D Day -1 The 6th June 2014 is the 70th anniversary of D Day for some D Day started before the 6th, this small memorial at Upottery commemorates the US airmen and paratroopers who left Smeatharpe airfield in this sleepy part of Devon on the night of 5th June and others who left on 7th June to parachute into France and never returned, as with so many others they gave their tomorrow’s so we could have our today’s, we shall remember them.
