The Grapes of Wrath - June movie challenge
The Grapes of Wrath, a compelling and controversial novel by John Steinbeck, was released as a movie in 1940.
The title comes from The Battle Hymn of the Republic;
Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord:
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword:
His truth is marching on.
The grape at the top of the bunch is a bit squashed representing the biblical meaning of people or nations being destroyed or judged by God because of their wickedness.
