In the Footsteps of the #Brontes
Started the day with a site visit to Oakwell Hall, Birstall which was the source of inspiration for Charlotte Bronte during her visits in the 19th century. It features as "Fieldhead" in her classic novel Shirley.
The second site visit of the day took me to Red House, Gomersal. This was home to woollen cloth manufacturers and merchants the Taylor family. Charlotte Brontë visited the house many times. The house is "Briarmains" in Shirley.
The blipfoto is Mr Taylor's bedchamber furnished with fine mahogany furniture from the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
Back over to Huddersfield for an enjoyable catch-up and coffee at lunchtime with ex-work colleagues including fellow blipper Musekal.
