Harley hearse

This is the amazing Harley motorbike and sidecar hearse that carried my uncle to his funeral today. You can see that the coffin is also covered in pictures of Harleys.

I can't tell you how perfect this was for him. His wife and daughter really did him proud. He would have loved it.

The funeral was absolutely packed with people standing all around the edges of the room. I'm not at all surprised. My uncle was a special person who was a joy to be with. He never boasted about his many achievements and his warmth always shone through. I read a poem at the funeral today and it was difficult but a beautiful poem.

He was internationally renowned in his field of expertise, which was designing fire safety systems for buildings, including for Windsor Castle after its major fire. He won many awards and accolades but I never heard him mention one of them.

He was just uncle Pete, funny and warm and kind, and proud of his family. We will miss him so much.
