Park Gate

Weather was much better today - not a drop of rain. I managed to do a bit of gardening. Just a bit - a drop in the ocean - so much more needs doing.

I popped down to the village and came back through Chase Park. It was originally a private estate and was purchased by the Council in 1937. I remember the Mansion House - this was demolished in 1962. Its a well used park and has a bowling green, tennis courts and children's play equipment. Many years ago it used to have a paddling pool and an aviary but they didn't last. This park gate is rather dilapidated but I guess its been around since 1937 so it has a good right to be. Check it out LARGE
