Steam Trains Galore.

A Day out today with a group belonging to the British Legion. Trish,Terry, Rob and I met up with them and went by coach to a
Country House and Gardens in Hampshire.
The house belonged to Gilbert White who was a pioneer naturalist in the 18th century, also the house is a museum to Captain Oates and his epic journey with Captain Scott in 1911/1912 to the South Pole.
The house was beautiful and the grounds were full of wild flowers and huge park trees.
After lunch we walked up to Alresford station to the Watercress Railway. And went for a pleasant trip in an old steam train, passing through a station full of old steam trains in different states of repair, and a lot of smoke! a steam train enthusiasts dream!
The Watercress Line is the marketing name of the Mid-Hants Railway, a heritage railway in Hampshire, England, running 10 miles from New Alresford to Alton where it connects to the National Rail network.
