Tennis Dissolving
Roland Garros (the French Open) is nearing this Sunday's finale. We have been watching most of it (our NYC apartment doesn't have a TV connection :), and I have noticed the occasional dissolves or fades from one image to another, usually just before the next serve.
I've found the dissolves quite artistic, and I managed to catch this one at a good moment. It's the ladies semifinal, in the late afternoon (hence the stadium's shadow on the right). The face and cap belong to Simona Halep of Roumania, and the small figure about to serve is her opponent, Andrea Petkovic, a German of Serbian and Bosnian origin. Halep won.
Looking at this large, you see the scuff marks around the service line. The vague face around the stadium's shadow is probably Marylee reflected in our TV monitor.
