Fresh from the chip shop

Maybe once a week we have a fish supper from our chip shop. For English readers, a fish supper is 'fish and chips', the fish will not be cod but haddock or whiting, and the batter is quite unlike English batter. A Scottish fish supper is a magnificent meal. For our fish supper, we get 2 fishes and chips enough for me and my wife. Good value since one fish supper does two hungry people.

With tonight's fish supper, the batter on the fish was particularly crisp and the chips were soft and well cooked inside - a real gourmet dish. All that's missing in the picture is Irn Bru to wash it down with (your other national drink). Actually we prefer a glass of milk - how boring!!
