Go figure!

This was part of a series of physical challenges and problem solving we put to our Year 9 classes today.....

Have one person stand at each of the blue cones and red cones. Have an 'empty' cone between the 2 groups. The goal is to move all the red players to the blue cones and all the blue players to the red cones.

Rules: Can move to empty cone alongside, can over-take one player coming in opposite direction but can't reverse or go back.

Much debate, discussion, trial, error, frustration, leadership, thinking and team-work, though no groups I took managed to solve it! Fortunately, the focus wasn't on the solution but more on how people deal with their feelings when they meet problems that seem impossible.
