Chim Chim Cheree

Another Wedding and this time a Chimney Sweep. He asked if he could park on our drive, of course we said yes (spotting the obvious blip opportunity).

Peter (the sweep) is a very nice chap and told me all about Chimney Sweeps and why they go to weddings..

Chimney Sweep Fact (well it is Friday).

The reason Chimney Sweeps are considered to be lucky is because a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away a King fell into a ditch. The ditch was muddy and so no body would help the King get out. A passing sweep who was already quite grubby did not mind a bit more dirt and so helped the King. The happy (if slightly mucky )King was so grateful to the sweep he bestowed eternal good luck on all Sweeps.

Peter the Sweep facts.
He's always been a Sweep, as was his father and his grandfather.
His Top Hat was given to him by an Undertaker, it was made in 1947.
His Tailcoat was given to him by a Cambridge Don, or Fellow or something who'd had it made in 1947.
His Glasses came from Specsavers (I made that up).
Of all the weddings he has attended only one couple have split up (I'm not sure how he knows this as I'm sure he does not keep in touch with them).
He is going to do us a deal on sweeping out chimney next time it needs doing (I didn't mention I have brushed and do it myself).
He also said to give him a call when Poppy got married.

So the weekend is here, we've had a pretty good week and our new website has just gone live. Igentics So hopefully everyone will have a good weekend. We are off to cricket in a bit. Sunshine, picnic, cricket, beer..... Could be worse ;)
