Karting
Thomas is a very lucky boy. Today, the year 8 boys had 'leave of absence' to celebrate the end of common entrance exams and were allowed the day off school. Traditionally, on this day the parents organise a special activity for them to do, and so today they all went karting at a nearby Daytona track. They had a wonderful morning racing around the track, getting faster and faster with each lap, and then afterwards had a delicious lunch organised by one of the mums. Here he is racing around a tight bend with someone hot on his heels. It was a glorious hot and sunny day today, in fact a little too warm and afterwards he could not wait to take off his helmet.
Straight after karting it was off to school to decorate the hall for the year 8 disco tonight. It is looking lovely and bright with a theme of 'neon colours'. Now we have come home for a quick supper and then it is back to the disco, Thomas and his friends to have fun and the mums (and some dads) to be on duty all night. Many parents have offered to help so it should be fun for the parents too and we may just enjoy a glass of wine once all the kids are checked in.
I will have to catch up with journals tomorrow as have not touched sides today.
