DOUBLE VW

Spotting this brought back memories of the 1959 VW Beetle I used to have, which was gradually getting rustier during the years I owned it. It was yellow, painted with red flames along the sides, and as the electrical system was only 6V, I generally had to take the battery out every night to recharge it (it was under the back seat), and park it facing downhill so that I could bump-start it whenever possible. I bought it for £65 when it was already about 16 years old and sold it five years later for £85. Despite the fond memories, I was glad when I started earning enough money to buy a proper grown-up car with heating, a radio and windscreen wipers that worked.
