D-Day

Today on this special day, the celebration of the 70th anniversary of D-Day and the liberation by the Allies of Europe, I thought that a picture of de Gaulle was appropriate as he worked really hard to try to get France to hold against the German army. But he could not manage alone... And I think a big thank you is in order to all these men who lost their lives to save the lives of others they would never meet and gave a future to a whole continent and a new generation could arise. My maternal grandfather was briefly in work camp in Germany.
