Thistle Down

By Ethel

Rainbow

Rain-bow...O Rain-bow,
Circling so high.
Bands of bright color,
Far off in the sky.

After the rain-drops,
Sifting down low.
And great is the splendor,
Where bright colors show.

Strung through the skies,
Edged under in folds.
From clouds laid in ruffles,
Where eyes can behold.

Like fantasy showing,
That accompanies the showers.
Mid an embankment of rare growths,
That are laced in...with flowers.

A Rain-bow...O Rain-bow,
That comes with full worth.
As men stand in awe,
At such beauty on earth.
